Ministry of Science and Technology Welcome Canadian Technology Accelerator to Taiwan Tech Arena

Dr. Yu-Chin Hsu, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), announced today at Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) Launch Ceremony organized by Canadian Trade Office in Taipei that CTA will be stationed in Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA), the flagship tech startup ecosystem building program organized by MOST. TTA and CTA will initiate a series of collaboration with focus on supporting Canadian startups to develop technology and business partnerships in Taiwan.

CTA is an initiative of Canada’s Ministry of Global Affairs. The program helps new Canada technology companies connect with mentors and business partners in a small number of selective markets. CTA has operations in five cities in the U.S. (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Silicon Valley) focusing on clean energy, information and communication technology and life science. CTA in TTA would be among the first of its kind outside of North America after Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo.

CTA would start the operation here in Taiwan by building a local operation team in TTA and form partnership with hosting accelerators in Taiwan to support Canadian startups connect with the ecosystem, resources and industries in Taiwan. TTA would work closely with CTA Taiwan to build the network and programs.

“TTA is the flagship tech startup ecosystem building program of MOST. We are honored to build partnership with Canadian tech startup ecosystem not only helping Canadian technology startups soft-land in Taiwan, but also expecting more collaboration in research, mentorship, corporate innovation and startup investment.” said Dr. Yu-Chin Hsu.

TTA is a tech innovation and entrepreneurship program which aims to connect the whole tech startup ecosystem under one dome.  Its main mission is to foster tech entrepreneurship, innovation, and build a vibrant international tech startup ecosystem in Taiwan.

TTA hopes to attract global and domestic talents and actively foster the innovation of technology industries by building a co-creation platform for startups, accelerators, venture capital, and corporate partners under one dome.
