GLOBAL LAND PROGRAMME 2018 ASIA CONFERENCE

GLOBAL LAND PROGRAMME(GLP) is an open community where all scientists, practitioners and policy makers interested and involved in land system change can participate and contribute. GLP has the objective to continuously engage new participants to share experiences and contribute to its overarching goals. As land systems require an inter- and transdisciplinary approach all participants are encouraged to initiate and undertake activities that strengthen the knowledge and practice of land systems to contribute to a sustainable management of land resources.
The Global Land Programme Asia Conference originated is an interactive cross-disciplinary expert conference hosted every four years in Taiwan. The goal of the conference is to provide networks to evaluate socio-economic and environmental interactions over distances with teleconnection and telecoupling concepts. This conference aims to provide interdisciplinary sustainability solutions at local through global scales, and to facilitate the transition to environmental sustainability, addressed thematically as:
• Urban rural teleconnections
• Integrated regional models
• Modelling land system change
• Land use drivers and impacts
• Telecouplings of land use systems
• Trade-offs for land use and conflict
• Land-ocean-atmosphere processes
• Land change and ecosystem services/biodiversity
• Land management systems
• Other relevant topics
