MOST Outstanding Lectureship
Dr. Richard L. Gourse
The Research Promotion Center of Life Sciences organizes Outstanding Lectureships and invites international distinguished scholars to share their achievements and inspiring ideas. At this time, we are honored to invite Dr. Richard L. Gourse, the internationally renowned bacteriologist and molecular biologist, to visit Taiwan. Dr. Gourse’s major research focuses on the bacterial transcription and its regulation, and his group has made several fundamental and path-breaking discoveries. Because of his excellent scientific achievements, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2014. Dr. Gourse will deliver the Outstanding Lectureship on “Regulation of Bacterial Transcription Initiation by Factors that Bind Directly to RNA Polymerase and Not to DNA” on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Academia Sinica. Dr. Gourse’s Lecture will be followed by a Special Lecture, by Dr. Wilma Ross on “Insights from Biochemical and Structural Studies on the Mechanism of Transcription Activation and Inhibition by ppGpp and DksA”. We cordially urge you not to miss this opportunity to listen to these scientific discoveries.
