From 15-20 August a team of six Taiwanese scientists specialising in Energy Science and technology visited the United Kingdom.
Led by Professor Chin Pan, a distinguished professor at National Tsing Hua University’s Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Science, the scholars visited staff at the TRO, as well as a number of British institutions and companies to share their thoughts and research on energy conservation, and the development and application of renewable energy in Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Sites visited included:
- *The University of Nottingham
- *The Carbon Trust
- *The Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (the UK’s national fusion research laboratory)
- *The Energy Technology Institute
The main objective of the visits, which were supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) was to seek opportunities to build a cooperative model for academia and energy industry research between the UK and Taiwan. Professor Pan is currently serving as MOST’s academic convener of the discipline.
